Supreme Court: The Supreme Court has given an important decision in the WhatsApp case. The court has ordered telecom companies like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea to reallocate inactive mobile numbers. Now the companies can give that number to someone else if the number is not recharged for a long time.

WhatsApp users may face problems if this happens. Because many people currently use different mobile numbers for WhatsApp and calling, the problems of all such WhatsApp users are going to increase.

What was the matter-

The Supreme Court has given a decision in an important case. Advocate Rajeshwari demanded to stop TRAI from giving inactive mobile numbers to others. 

However, her petition was rejected by the Supreme Court. The court said that telecom companies can give inactive mobile numbers to others again. This decision brings a big change in the telecom sector.

Delete WhatsApp data:

The Supreme Court warned WhatsApp users that if they do not want their mobile numbers and data to be misused, they will have to answer. Users should delete their data in time. The Supreme Court said that users should keep their personal information safe.

What does the rule say?

If your mobile number gets deactivated due to non-recharge, it cannot be given to another person for 90 days, as per the rules of the Department of Telecommunications. 

This rule applies only when the mobile number is not recharged, and not in unfortunate circumstances like death or foreign citizenship.
