Mr journalist news : The construction work of the Green Field Expressway being built from DND-KMP Expressway in front of Sector-65 of Faridabad to Jewar Airport may now be pending for a year. The reason for this seems to be that the election code of conduct will be in effect till June. Till June, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) management will not be able to take a decision on making a cut on the Greenfield Expressway.

On 27 September 2022, NHAI Management awarded the contract to APCO Construction to build an expressway to Jewar Airport. The work on this expressway was to be completed by September, but due to the farmers' strike, it was extended till June next year.

However, due to the election code of conduct, there is going to be more uncertainty for two and a half months. At present only ten percent of the construction work on the expressway has been completed.

There are two and a half months left for June. Due to the election code of conduct, the NHAI management will be able to take policy decisions only after two and a half months. Therefore, there is a possibility of further delay in the work of this highway.

Farmers are adamant on demand for cuts

On Monday also the farmers demanded closure of the Green Field Expressway. Kisan and Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti has stopped the construction work of the expressway in a four kilometer area since the month of November.

Initially, farmers stopped work in a nine kilometer area on October 15. The Sangharsh Committee is demanding a cut on the expressway. NHAI has also not yet taken any decision regarding making the cut here. Also, the farmers have not shown any leniency in ending the strike.
