Mr Journalist, UP: A new railway will be laid from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh. Just recently, under the budget, the new broad gauge railway line had received Rs 342 crore. Under the gauge conversion, 56.15 km railway line worth Rs 342 crore is to be converted from meter gauge to broad gauge.

For this, the Railway Ministry had passed a budget of Rs 342 crore. The first installment of Rs 180 crore was also released to North Eastern Railway in October 2023. The operation of trains will start on this line only after the construction of the broad gauge line.

A target of one and a half years has been set to complete the work of Aman Parivartan. Four big and 19 small bridges will be constructed on this route. After construction of broad gauge, the number of trains will also be increased. With this, approximately 85 lakh population of Bahraich and Gonda districts will be benefited.

Work will be done from Bahraich to Nanpara in the first phase. 

The gauge conversion work is to be done in two phases. In the first phase, 35.61 km work will be done from Bahraich to Nanpara. After completion of this work, 20.54 km work will be done from Nanpara to Nepalganj Railway Station. Since the work will be done in two phases, the work will speed up.

Target to complete the work in one and a half year 

A target of one and a half years has been set to complete the gauge conversion work of Bahraich to Nepalganj route. Four big and 19 small bridges will be constructed on this route. After construction of broad gauge, the number of trains will also be increased. This will benefit the population of about 85 lakhs of Bahraich and Gonda districts.

In view of the gauge conversion, Rs 342 crore will be spent on converting 56.15 railway lines from meter gauge to broad gauge. The work for this has also started and soon 85 lakh people will get the benefit of this railway line.
