7th Pay commission: Government employees will get a big gift this Dussehra, there will be a huge increase in bonus

7th pay comission news

Khabar tv (Bureau). The government is going to make many big announcements this festive season. Let us tell you, this time before Dussehra, the central employees of the Railways are going to get great news.

In fact, Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF), has recently raised the demand to remove the estimated salary limit for railway employees for the financial year 2023-24.

For your information, let us tell you that every year railway employees get bonus (7th pay commission dussehra bonus) before the Dussehra Puja holidays, but at present this payment is based on the estimated salary of Rs 7000 per month.

This demand arose regarding PLB

According to AIRF, railway employees perform unique and demanding duties and work especially in remote areas where there is lack of essential basic amenities.

Despite their hard work and significant contribution, the payment of salary on the basis of notional salary by the government has been raising questions. Recently, a group of railway employees had appealed to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to calculate their annual PLB on the basis of 7th Pay Commission instead of 6th Pay Commission.

This is how PLB should be calculated

In a recent letter, Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF) national general secretary Sarvjeet Singh also said that currently PLB is calculated on the basis of the 6th Pay Commission which takes the minimum salary of Rs 7,000 per month.

He said that under the 7th Pay Commission (7th pay commission news), the minimum salary has been increased to Rs 18,000, which railway employees have been getting since January 1, 2016.

Demand for change in bonus calculation

IREF has insisted that as per the government guidelines, state railway employees should get PLB equivalent to 78 days' salary. However, the current payment of Rs 17,951 is calculated on the basis of Rs 7000 per month salary (DA hike latest update). Which does not represent the actual earnings of any railway employee.

This time you will get this much bonus

Let us tell you that the minimum basic monthly salary in railways is Rs 18000. In this context, the bonus of Rs 17,951 for 78 days is less than the minimum salary.

This is the reason why employees are worried about it. As per the current minimum salary of Rs 18,000, the bonus for 78 days should be Rs 46,159.

This year Indian Railways achieved a record freight loading of 1,591 metric tonnes as against 1,312 metric tonnes last year which shows the dedication of railway employees. However, under pressure from the Finance Ministry, the Railway Board proposed a cut in the PLB calculation (Dussehra bonus update) formula, suggesting a bonus equivalent to only 76 days' wages. The AIRF strongly opposed this proposal and after the intervention of officials, it was agreed that the bonus would remain for 78 days only.

Now AIRF has appealed to all railway employees to come together to demand removal of salary ceiling and insisted that PLB should be calculated on the basis of actual wages.
