Mobile Battery Health: What is the battery health of a phone? On which the resale value depends

How to check mobile battery health

Nowadays, smartphone has become an important part of our life. We use smartphone for many purposes daily. For education, social media, gaming, and connectivity with each other. But one important part of the smartphone which we often ignore is the battery health of the phone.

Do you know that the battery health of the phone does not only affect the performance of the phone. It also affects the resale value (second-hand price) of the phone. Let us understand what battery health is and how it affects the resale value of the phone.

What is battery health?

Battery health means the condition of your smartphone's battery. As you use the phone and charge the battery, its capacity starts decreasing. Battery health tells how much maximum capacity is left in your battery.

For example, when you bought the phone, your phone's battery health was 100 percent. But now it has become 80 percent. So it means that the battery has reduced by 20 percent from its original capacity.

Check battery health like this

To check the battery health, you have to go to the phone's Settings. After this, click on the option of Battery or Battery Health. This is given in both iOS and Android. If you click on Maximum Capacity, the battery health will be shown to you.

Why is battery health important?

Battery health directly affects the performance of the smartphone. When the battery health is poor, the phone can discharge quickly. It may take time to charge.

Sometimes the phone may also turn off. This can also spoil your mobile using experience. Not only this, the need for battery replacement can also increase. Which costs more. If the battery health is not good, then the performance of the entire phone is affected.

Battery Health and Resale Value

The resale value of a phone means the value you get when you sell your old phone to someone else. Battery health directly affects this resale value.

If your phone's battery health is good (around 100%), then its price can be high. In such a situation, the buyer feels that the phone's battery life is good. He will not need to replace the battery.

But if the battery health is low (eg 70-80%), then it means that the buyer may have to replace the battery in the future. After buying it, he will have to bear more expenses. This can reduce the resale value of the phone.

Take care of battery health like this

  1. Avoid charging the phone from 0% to 100% while charging. Charge the phone before the battery goes below 20%. Stop charging after the phone's battery is charged up to 80%. This formula can increase battery life. Avoid overcharging the phone. When the battery is fully charged, do not leave it on charge for a long time.
  2. Keep your phone away from heat. Battery health can deteriorate quickly due to mobile heating.
  3. Close background apps. Apps running in the background keep consuming battery. Keep clearing these apps from time to time.

These settings will be beneficial

Use battery saver mode to make the battery last longer. Keep your phone's software updated. New updates may contain improvements for battery optimization. Always use the original charger.
